Abstract

              This research article explores the reasons why Great Britain sent their prisoners in Australia in the 18th century. The author used 4 different websites to research the reasons why Great Britain chose Australia. The author’s analysis shows that Australia was the best-conditioned country which they can dock their ships and for trading with other nations. This Great Britain’s transport gave a big impact on Australia.

Introduction

Literature Review

              Australia is a one of the union jack countries. In fact, almost of the people in Australia is Brandie. There are many countries around the world. However, Great Britain choose Australia for colony. The aim of this research is to explore the reason why Great Britain chose Australia and what kind of impact does Australia had.

Looking for an alternate place that Great Britain could use to relieve its overcrowded prisons, the government decided to establish a penal colony. The British began to settle there in 1788. Many settlers were criminals and they were sent to live in Australia as punishment. For a short time, the newcomers lived peacefully with the Aboriginal people. But soon, fighting broke out over who owned the land. Great Britain wanted to make Australia a prison for them, but they couldn’t do well with Aboriginal people.

Great Britain brought big impact to the Aboriginal people. Australia’s first or indigenous people, are usually referred to as the aboriginal people of Australia. As stated by Kids-World-travel-guide.com (2020), they make up 2% of Australia’s population today.  Now, Aboriginal people live in all main cities in Australia but most of them still live in the desert areas of the Australian outback, and many people are trying to stop discrimination. The population of Aboriginal people had decreased, but today, many people are trying to save them.

Conclusion

Recent research on Great Britain and Australia provided the understanding why they chose Australia for colony. Current finding suggest that Australia was the best- conditioned country for Great Britain. Australia has changed so much because of Great Britain. Many aboriginal people died and almost all of the people in Australia today have blond hair. As authority was an important in the past, Great Britain wanted to be stronger than other countries. Australia is a special country that is in southern hemisphere and it is huge. Consequently, Great Britain focused on Australia.
