Abstract
This research article explores (studies) the reasons that make Portugal one of the strongest countries of football. The author’s analysis shows that Portugal is a strong country of football in the world and has many amazing achievements because football is the most popular sport in the world and there are many famous players, and good player development and management. For a person who interested in football or who want to be a wonderful soccer player, Portugal is a good place to learn important thing of playing football.
Introduction
Portugal is a strong country of football. They got 3rd place in the England World Cup, Top 4 in the German World Cup, and other wonderful achievements. And there are so many famous, popular, and strong players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Luís Figo, or Bruno Fernandes. According to FIFA ranking which shows the ranking of results published by the International Football Federation, it’s says the No,1 country is Belgium, and Portugal is in 6th place out of 210 countries. The aim of this research is to explore the reasons that make Portugal the strong country of football.
Literature Review
Many people in the world play football and many players in each country are trying to win. However, Portugal made a lot of wonderful performances. In Portugal, there are 10,350,000 people who lives in Portugal and more than 550,000 people are playing football, so it means that football is a very popular sport in Portugal. So there are many football clubs there. The National League is divided between the Primera Liga (first division) and the Liga de Onra (second division), with 16 and 22 clubs. Portugal can select great players from many players.
Primera Liga, the highest level of the Portuguese Professional Football League is the perfect place for young and talented foreigners who are still not good enough for the English, Spanish, Italian or German leagues. The top clubs do not have to develop potentially good players themselves. They usually only look for the ones who can instantly make a difference in the team and who already played in a decent league in Europe. The ones who compete in Africa or South America, for example, have little chance of landing a role in a big league straight away. That is where Portugal comes in. In this country, these players have the chance to develop and gain experience in European football. Especially for the Brazilians, it is also a great environment for those players as the climate and the language is the one they are accustomed to. Portugal has a good player’s development and management so that they can have good players in the team.
Conclusion
Portugal has many amazing achievements of football. About 550,000 people in Portugal play football. It means that most of people who live in Portugal play football. So there are many football clubs too. Portugal’s top football team can chose good players from many selection. Also, the players in the top football team in Portugal can play in a wonderful environment because the players have the chance to develop and gain experience in European football. What do you call it if it’ is not a perfect place? Consequently, many Portuguese football players and good player’s development and management make Portugal a strong country of football.
