Abstract
The research article explores the reasons that make the Ceylon tea (Sri Lankan tea) delicious.The author used 1 website to research about Ceylon tea. The author could know about relationship between elevation and tea cultivation. Also, the specialty of Ceylon tea. This research article describe about why Ceylon tea has many specialties.
Introduction
Sri Lanka is very famous tea-growing location. Sri Lankan tea is called “Ceylon tea” and it is very popular in all over the world.
Literature Review
The flavor of the tea varies depending on the sea level. Tea grown at a low-sea level produces a rather strong flavor. Tea grown at a high-sea level produces a rather has a mild flavor (citation needed).
Sri Lanka has a low-sea level regions and high-sea level regions. So, Sri Lanka has ideal climatic conditions to make tea. The main tea growing areas are Central Province, Uva Province, Southern Province, and Sabaragamuwa Province. Each region’s tea has its own identity.
Southern Province
For example, the teas grown in Southern Province region has a strong malty flavor, and the aromas have distinctive qualities to it, because Southern Province is in the low area. They are mainly consumed as black tea.
Sabaragamuwa province
Tea grown in Sabaragamuwa Province has a little variation to it than of the teas grown in southern province. The tea is consumed as liquor. The tea has a sweetness. The flavor is like caramel.
Uva Province
Uva Province produces a leaf that is more blackened by withering than that of any other region. So, it has unique flavor and aroma. It mainly used in blend teas. Also, Uva tea is most famous Ceylon tea.
Central Province
Tea grown in Central Province comes from Nuwara Eliya and Kandy. In Nuwara Eliya, tea is grown at an elevation of 6,200ft above sea level and has rare and elegant qualities that differs from the low-grown teas (citation needed). The leaves are slower to grow than those of the other Provinces.
Ceylon tea has many good points. The tea is plucked by skillful women. Skillful plucking of tea leaves is essential to the final quality of the tea. Also, it is not done by machines. It needs human efforts, so that helps to make good tea in Sri Lanka.
Conclusion
The conclusion summarizes the main points and answers the research question. Sri Lanka has various environment to make high quality tea. Also, they are plucked by skillful women. Because of those two reasons, Ceylon tea became delicious and popular around the world.
