What Makes Belgium Chocolates Famous and Popular Around the World?

Abstract
This research article explores the reasons why Belgium chocolates are famous and popular around the world. The author used 5 websites to research about chocolate in Belgium. The author’s analysis shows that Belgium chocolates are attractive to see, buy and eat because Belgium chocolate looks very nice, they use good materials for keeping high quality and there is novel way to make chocolate in Belgium. So, many people buy and eat Belgium chocolates for their celebrations.

Introduction
Belgium is a small country where it is home of more than 10 million Belgian in Europe (citation needed). The official languages are German language, French and Dutch. And Belgians love Belgium sweets such as chocolates, waffle and cookies very much. In fact, the average amount of chocolate that Belgians eat in a year is about 6kg. Japan also has few original chocolates brands and these are very famous and popular in Japan. But actually, Belgium chocolate brands are more famous and popular around the world. The aim of this research is to explore the reasons that makes the Belgium chocolates famous and popular around the world.

Literature Review
A lot of chocolate companies in the world strive for taste and appearance of quality as well as Belgium chocolate companies. However, Belgium chocolatiers care more for appearance than other countries. In Brussels, the capital of Belgium, there are many different chocolates shops such as Leonidas, Godiva, Mary and Pierre Marconi. And these shops have chocolates of various shape with gold wrapping. For example, the chocolate brand “DelRaY” make diamond and seashell shape chocolates. Also, the chocolate brand “Wittamer” produce flower-shaped chocolate. For many people, Belgium chocolates are great sweets because they look very attractive and gorgeous.
The secret behind chocolate taste is history about materials. In the 20th century, Japan became to thrive with chocolate production. But the history of Belgium chocolate has been around since the 17th century (citation needed). According to the article “Why is Belgian Chocolate famous?”, In 1973, there was controversy about definition of European chocolate. Because of this effect, it has been defined since 1990 that containing less than 5% fat and oil chocolates is okay in EU. But in chocolate manufacturers in Belgium, 100% cocoa butter is used without using any vegetable oil other than cocoa. Chocolate in Belgium use 100% cocoa butter. Using 100% cocoa butter make higher quality then other vegetable oils.
“Praline” chocolate, made in Belgium started to become famous around the world. As mentioned by the website “SpinTheEarth”, “Praline” is chocolate which originated in Belgium and that is made into paste by mixing hazelnuts and roasted almonds. In addition, Praline was created by Jean Neuhaus Junior in 1912 and, at the time, the way to make Praline was very novel idea. Because of that, “Praline” and Belgium Chocolate started to be very famous around the world.

Conclusion
Recent research on Belgium chocolate has showed few reasons why Belgian chocolates are famous and popular around the world. Current findings suggest that material and appearance, both of perspective make Belgium chocolate to keep its high quality by making beautiful colors and shapes of chocolates. In addition, Brussels Express showed that providing delicious chocolates relate with material of cacao helped it become popular. Furthermore, not only chocolates but other sweets such as cookies and waffles are popular, too. So, many people have a good time with Belgian sweets. Belgian sweets are famous and popular all over the world and many people can eat beautiful sweets whenever they want to. But behind of quality sweets, there is long history of the chocolate and chocolatiers who always worked hard to make these attractive chocolates.
