Finland school system

Finland education has high quality education system for children and students. That is because, Finland people believe in education. In the Finland education system, there are some rules such as “No standard tests” and “Makes the basic a priority”. Standard test is checking the student understanding so that is good to know the student achievements. However, according to weforum.org, it says standard test will be that student focus on score or passing the test, so Finland has no standard test. Make the basic a priority is to school environment will be equitable so since the 1980s, educator focus on making these rules (Colagrossi, 2018).

By keeping these rules, students can spend the time at school effective and equitable. Also, students can be healthy.

Connection and Difference between Finland and Japan

Finland education system is unusual and special. That is because, purpose is different. Compared to Japan, Finland shows learning something is duty however, Japan is going to school is duty. That is one kind of difference. Second difference is amount of homework and outside work. Japanese school has a lot of homework after school and during vacation. However, Finland school has less homework. From that fact, Finland school students can freely learn, no stress, and balanced between school and daily life (Colagrossi, 2018).

Third difference is doing cooperation or not. In Japanese, school standard test is given rank so a student knows the position from the rank of the test. It means, one student contrast with other students that’s not cooperation. In Finland school, no competition such as contrast with others. Instead, criterion is cooperation. From these fact, Finland school and Japanese school system are different.

That is mean if student study during school break, the student can get knowledge. According to edarabia.com, except the public holidays, Finland has 4 kinds of vacation. Such as, summer break, autumn break, Christmas break and winter break. Summer break is about 2 months, autumn break is about 5 days, Christmas break is about 3 weeks and winter break is about 1 week. Compared to Japan, Finland school breaks are long. According to edarabia.com, except the public holidays, Japan school has only 3 kinds of breaks. Such as summer break, winter break and spring break. Summer break is about 1 month, and winter-and-spring holidays are about 2 weeks so, Finland school breaks are longer than Japanese school breaks.
